The foreshore of Twofold Bay offers up endless salty goodness to discover with ample opportunities for swimming, diving and fishing. As you reach the shores of Beowa National Park you can expect to find secluded and secret beaches (shh), great surf breaks, campgrounds and walking trails. Don’t miss Aslings Beach Rock Pool and Cocora Beach in the heart of Eden, as well as a dip in the famously turquoise waters of Pambula River Mouth.

Eden Wharf

Known as Snug Cove, the Port of Eden is a working port set under the shadow of Balawan (Mount Imlay) on the edge of Twofold Bay, the third-deepest natural harbour in the Southern Hemisphere. Harbouring a fleet of fishing boats, you can watch the day’s catch being unloaded and the local fishermen tending to their nets and boats. If you’re lucky, you might catch the local prawn trawler in time to buy local school prawns straight off the boat. Take your fish and chips here and enjoy the vista.

History

Rich in tales of the sea, Eden has a deep and layered history. Most famously, the ‘Killers of Eden’ is an intriguing tale of the world’s oldest known human and wild animal hunting partnership. You can learn more about this incredible relationship between humans and wild orca at the Eden Killer Whale Museum and along the Killer Whale Trail. From amazing Aboriginal stories and culture to the tales of seafarers, whalers, timber cutters and pastoralists, Eden has many fascinating stories to tell.

WHALES

Eden is one Australia’s best (and internationally renowned) whale watching locations, welcoming tens of thousands of humpback whales each spring. The deep waters of Twofold Bay offer plentiful food and shelter for migrating whales that visit us from August until November. In peak season, whale watching cruises depart daily from the Eden Wharf. You can also spot whales close to shore from nearby lookouts and beaches.
